Meet Dr Sophia Jowett

I am in the business of supporting, enhancing, facilitating and pushing the boundaries of innovation, creativity, learning and performing. My aim is to help individuals and organisations to be bold and brave and ignite the courage that is required for peak performances and fulfilled lives.

Who do I work with?

With over than 25 years of experience in human behaviour, leadership, coaching, interpersonal relationships and communication, I have attracted leaders, teams and organisations that are at the cutting edge of performance. I have supported leaders and teams to build trust, commitment, collaboration and clarity, bringing about lasting change that is targeted and measurable.

How do I work?

Through evidence-informed methodologies and strategies, I empower individuals, teams and organisations to shift perspectives, overcome challenges and seize new opportunities. I can help you build on existing strengths and capacities to lead boldly and collaborate effectively.

My work in high performance two-person relationships is recognised worldwide and I have transferred knowledge and applications from the world of elite sport into the world of business. Relationships are central to leadership and thus my aim is to help you recognise the power of human connection for unlocking higher performance levels.

My academic and research background

I have been consistently ranked in the top 2% of scientists worldwide over the past five years and recognised as “an Eminent Sport and Exercise Psychology Researcher” (2024). I was also named the 2nd-most influential researcher globally (1st in Europe, and the only woman in the top ten worldwide) in sport coaching science based on analysis published in 2012 and 2024. My high-impact, peer-reviewed publications have amassed over 20,000 citations, underlining my role as a thought leader in performance psychology (see google scholar or research gate). Following 25 years as a full-time professor, I now remain involved with a number of Universities as a research fellow. I also am an associate editor for one of the most high impact journals in sport and exercise psychology.

I am a Chartered Psychologist, and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. One of my earliest assignments as a sport psychologist was to work with the Greek Olympic Team in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games - the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games …and my own!
